New York's 38th State Senate districtis one of 63 districts in theNew York State Senate.It is currently represented byRepublicanBill Weberpreviously represented byDemocratElijah Reichlin-Melnicksince 2021, succeeding fellow Democrat and formerIDCmemberDavid Carlucci,who waged an unsuccessfulrun for Congress.[3][4][5]
In the 2022 General election incumbent Elijah Reichlin-Melnick lost to his opponent Bill Weber[1][6]
Geography
[edit]District 38 covers the vast majority ofRockland Countyin the northernNew York Citysuburbs, including the towns ofOrangetown,Clarkstown,andRamapo;the district also crosses theHudson Riverto incorporate a small part ofOssininginWestchester County.[1][7]
The district is located entirely withinNew York's 17th congressional district,and overlaps with the 95th, 96th, 97th, and 98th districts of theNew York State Assembly.[8]
