TheNew Zealand cricket teamtoured India in October and November 2024 to play threeTestmatches againstIndia cricket team.[1][2][3]The Test series formed part of the2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship.[4][5]In June 2024, theBoard of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) confirmed the fixtures for the tour, as a part of the 2024–25 home international season.[6]

Prior to the series, New Zealand had won only two test matches in India with their last win coming in the1988-89 season.New Zealand won all the three tests in the series, setting several records in the process, including their first series victory in India and the first instance of India being whitewashed 3-0 in a Test series at home. New Zealand for the first time won 3 Test matches in same series[7][8]This was India's first Test series defeat at home sinceEnglandbeat them in2012.[9]

India namedHarshit Rana,Nitish Kumar Reddy,Mayank YadavandPrasidh Krishnaas travelling reserves.[12]On 20 October 2024,Washington Sundarwas added to India’s squad for the second and third Tests.[13]On 29 October,Harshit Ranawas added to India’s squad for the third Test.[14][15]

New Zealand namedMichael Bracewellfor only the first match whereasIsh Sodhifor the second and third matches only.[16]On 15 October 2024,Ben Searswas ruled out of the Test series due to knee injury,[17]withJacob Duffynamed as his replacement.[18]On 22 October,Kane Williamsonwas ruled out of the second Test due to his rehabilitation from a groin strain.[19]Before he was missed the first Test for the same reason.[16]On 29 October, Williamson was ruled out of the third Test.[20][21]
