Nikolsky Uyezd

Nikolsky Uyezd(Russian:Никольский уезд) was one of the subdivisions of theVologda Governorateof theRussian Empire.It was situated in the southern part of the governorate. Its administrative centre wasNikolsk.In terms of present-day administrative borders, the territory of Nikolsky Uyezd is divided between theNikolsky,BabushkinskyandKichmengsko-Gorodetskydistricts ofVologda OblastandPodosinovsky DistrictofKirov Oblast.

Demographics

At the time of theRussian Empire Censusof 1897, Nikolsky Uyezd had a population of 172,187. Of these, 99.9% spokeRussianas their native language.[1]
