Nils Mathisen(born 24 January 1959) is aNorwegianjazz musician (keyboards, violin, guitar and bass) and composer, known from significant efforts within cabaret and musicals. Mathisen has released two solo albums, and contributed to releases byJan Werner,Elisabeth Andreassen,ElgandArild Nyquist.[1]He is the brother of jazz musiciansPer Mathisen(bass),Hans Mathisen(guitar) andOle Mathisen(saxophone and clarinet).
Career[edit]
Born inSandefjord,Norway, Mathisen was educatedMelsomvikLandbruksskole(1981–82) andHortenIngeniørhøgskole(1984–85). He started as professional musician when he was 15 years old.[1]
In his ownNils Mathisen Band,he played with his brotherHans,and the music in the West Coast Jazz-Rock genre. They released an album on label Mudi,Pop Coast(2007), which had eleven weeks onNorsktoppen.[2]
