She is known for various roles in film and television, including as Dr.Jessica Adamsin theFoxmedical drama seriesHouse,Beth McIntyre in the monster filmCloverfield,Aubrey Diaz in theABCdrama seriesOctober Road,Samantha Arias / ReigninSupergirl,and Nola Longshadow inBanshee.
Early life
Odette Juliette Yustman was born on May 10, 1985,[4]inLos Angeles County, California,to a Colombian father and a Cuban mother.[5][6][7]Her father is of French, Italian, and Swiss descent.[7]She grew up nearPalm Springs.[7]Her first language is Spanish and she did not learn to speak English until she was five.[7]She graduated fromWoodcrest Christian High SchoolinRiverside.[8]
Career
Annable played a Spanish-speaking student inKindergarten Copat age 5. She later starred in the TV seriesSouth BeachandOctober Road.[9]She had a lead role in the 2007LifetimefilmReckless Behavior: Caught on Tape,andCloverfield,[10]as well as an appearance in the comedy filmWalk Hard,and the 2009 filmThe Unborn.[11]
In 2011, she played nurse Annie Miller in season five ofBrothers & Sisters.[12]Annable played Melanie Garcia on the comedyBreaking Inas a series regular in its first season, appearing as a guest star thereafter.[13][14]She joined the TV seriesHouseas Dr. Jessica Adams,[15]and remained on the show until the finale in May 2012.
In March 2014, Annable was cast asTrudy Cooperin the ABC seriesThe Astronaut Wives Club.[16]
In 2017, she joined the main cast of theCWseriesSupergirlasSamantha Arias,a single mother who discovers that she shares origins withSupergirlandSuperman,as well as Reign, the Kryptonian Worldkiller she was engineered to be.[17]From 2021, she joinedWalkeras Geraldine Broussard, a friend of the Walker's and local barkeep.[18]
Personal life
She was engaged to actorTrevor Wrightuntil their breakup in 2008.[19]She married herBrothers & Sistersco-starDave Annablein October 2010.[20]They have two daughters.[21][22]In October 2019, the couple announced their separation, but announced their reconciliation in August 2020.[23][24]
