Orriais a town andcomunein theprovince of Salernoin theCampaniaregion of South-westernItaly.As of 2011, its population was of 1161.[3]
History
[edit]The origins of town, around the 6th century, are uncertain, and possibly related to the destruction of theAncient Greekcity ofVelia.Orria became an autonomous municipality in 1806, including also the town ofPerito.[4]
Geography
[edit]Located in the middle ofCilento,and part ofits national park,Orria is a hilltown whose municipality borders withGioi,Magliano Vetere,Monteforte Cilento,Perito,SalentoandStio.[5]Its hamlets (frazioni) are the villages of Casino Lebano[1](pop.: 69)[6]andPiano Vetrale[1](pop.: 475).[7]
