ThePetite Creuse(French pronunciation:[pətitkʁøz],Little Creuse) is a 95.2 km (59.2 mi) long river inAllierandCreusedepartments,in central France.[1]Its source is atTreignat,2.5 km (1.6 mi) southeast of the village. It is aleft tributaryof theCreuseinto which it flows atFresselines.The river isdammedat several locations creating valley lakes that are extensively used for recreation, such asfishing,boatingandswimming.The dams are used to generateelectricityand to supplywater treatmentplants providing drinking water to local communities.
