Petros Hatzitasis(1872-1932) was aGreekchieftain fromFlorinawho contributed to theMacedonian Struggle.

He was born in 1872 inFlorina[1]and was an important member of the five-memberNational Committee of Florina[2]founded in 1902 byNikolaos Pyrzas.[3][4][5]

He tried to assassinate theBulgariankomitadjiMichael Grezhov in 1904, but the latter escaped, although wounded. He cooperated with the army ofPavlos Melasand participated in the clash which cost Melas his life, inStatista.[5]He and his team cooperated withNikostratos Kalomenopoulosfor many operations. He participated in the battle ofDrosopiginear Florina, where he became a prisoner of theOttomanauthorities and was imprisoned for three years, until 1908.[3][4][5]
