Phillip McGilton(born October 6, 1978)[1]is an American professionalstock car racingdriver and businessman. He formedPJM Enterprisesin 2002, a residential and commercial construction company that eventually grew into include automotive fabrication, and motorsports and educational ventures.

Racing career

McGilton began racing at the age of eight in dirt bikes and moved up to theArena Cross Series.After spending time as arodeocompetitor in steer wrestling,[2]he resumed racing as a hobby ingo-kartsandoff-road racing,before eventually moving up tostock cars.After graduating fromFast Track Driving School,he made his debut in theARCA RE/MAX SeriesatMichigan International Speedwayin 2006. In six starts in the No. 42Ford,he earned a best finish of 9th atKansas Speedway.In 2007, McGilton signed with theBrewco Motorsportsdriver development programin the No. 47Ford Fusion,and finished sixth in points, runner-up toMichael McDowellfor the SunTrust Rookie of the Year award. He earned eight top 10s, including a career best finish of 3rd atThe Milwaukee Mile.

After the 2007 season, McGilton paid to race forBill Davis Racingto drive the No. 22Toyota Tundrain theNASCAR Craftsman Truck Seriesfor the full 2008 season.[3]In four races, he earned a best finish of 10th atCalifornia Speedwayand did not finish worse than 16th. After theKroger 250atMartinsville,he was released and replaced byScott Speed. After his release, his businesses were shut down.
