Pilar Schiavo(born January 22, 1975) is formerly a nurse advocate and small business owner.[1]She currently serves in theCalifornia State Assembly[2]representing the northwestSan Fernando Valleyand theSanta Clarita ValleyinCalifornia's 40th State Assembly district.[3]

Political career

In her first campaign for political office, Schiavo defeated incumbent Republican AssemblywomanSuzette Valladaresin theNovember 2022 electionby 522 votes.[4][5]In 2022, Schiavo earned theendorsement of the Los Angeles Times,among dozens of others.

In her first year in office, Schiavo has put more than $675,000 back in people’s pockets, secured an historic $20 million in critical infrastructure investments that came directly back to our community, and has worked on legislation focused on housing affordability, homelessness, and health care.[6]

Schiavo is currently running for re-election.[7]
