Pitepalt(Swedish pronunciation:[ˈpiːtɛˈpaltː];[1]seepalt) is aSwedishdish related tokroppkakoror meat-filleddumplings.It is especially associated with thecityofPiteåinNorrbotten County,thought to be its place of origin.[2]

Varieties

This dish has many varieties. Pitepalt are mostly made of rawpotatoesand a mix of wheat and barley flour. Pitepalt andkroppkakalook quite similar in shape. Forkroppkaka,pre-boiled potatoes andwheatflour are used. This giveskroppkakadumplings a slightly lighter color.[3]

Serving

This dish is traditionally eaten with butter andlingonberry jam.[4]
