Prann Recordswas arecord labelfounded by musicianIke Turnerin 1963.[1]Turner used this label to release singles by artist he was producing outside of theIke & Tina Turner Revue.[2]Records on Prann were distributed by CIRCA distributing firm. CIRCA (Consolidated International Record Company of America) was formed in 1962 to operate as a releasing company forindependent labelsby working with various distributors around the US.[3]

Turner took him toCosimo Matassa's studios inNew Orleansto record for Prann.[1]SingerFontella Bassrecorded for Prann early in her career when she was a member ofOliver Sain's band.[4]Turner also recorded for Prann under his alias Little Bones.
