Pratima Mondal(néeNaskar;born 16 February 1966) is anIndianpolitician who has been aMember of ParliamentforJaynagarsince2014.Before she joined politics she was a WBCS officer. Her fatherGobinda Chandra Naskarwas also a former MP fromBangaon.She belongs to theTrinamool Congress.[1][2][3]

[edit]Pratima Mondal was born on 16 February 1966, to aBengali Hindufamily in a small villageGaur DahainBanshra.She is daughter of the formerMember of Parliament,Gobinda Chandra Naskar.Pratima Mondal is a postgraduate of theUniversity of Calcutta.She was aWBCSofficer before entering politics.[4][5][6]
Political career
[edit]In the2014 Lok Sabha election,theAll India Trinamool Congressnominated Pratima Mondal from theJaynagarLok Sabha constituency. She was elected with 4,94,746 votes, which was 41.71% of the votes cast. She defeated her nearest rivalSubhas Naskarof theRevolutionary Socialist Partyby 1,08,384 votes.[7][8]
