Prema Katha(transl. Love Story) is a 1999 IndianTelugu-languageromance dramafilm written by Vara Prasad Varma and directed byRam Gopal Varma.It is the debut film of bothSumanthandAntara Malias leads in the Telugu film industry. The film opened to positive reviews by critics but was commercially unsuccessful. It had a highly praised soundtrack bySandeep Chowtaincluding the hit song "Devudu Karunisthaadani".[1]The film bagged six stateNandi Awards[2][3]and was dubbed into Tamil asKadhal Vanile.[4]

Plot

Set in a rural backdrop, it is a love story between a poor village boy Suri (Sumanth) and a rich upper-class girl Divya (Antara Mali), much to the opposition of the latter's violent brother, Sankaram (Manoj Bajpayee).[5]
