List of protected areas of Suriname

There are severalprotected areas of Suriname.The largest of these is theCentral Suriname Nature Reserve,a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The protected areas are managed by the Suriname Forest Service. The Forest Service has appointed STINASU (Stichting Natuurbehoud Suriname), a non-profit foundation, to develop and conduct the educational and tourist aspects in the protected areas.[1]As of 2020, 14.5% of the land territory is protected, and contains onenature park,and 13nature reserves.[2]
