Rachel Hood(born September 1953[1]) is anEnglishclassic-winning[2]thoroughbred racehorseowner and politician.

Horse racing career

Hood has owned numerous race horses, includingSt. Leger StakeswinnerArctic Cosmos,[3]Cheshire Oakswinner[4]Gertrude Bell andNichols Canyon.

She is an English and American-qualified attorney, and practiced in the State of California. She is currently Chairwoman of theRacehorse Owners Association.

Political career

She currently serves as aConservative Partycouncillor in Newmarket.[5][6]

Personal life

She met her husband,racehorse trainerJohn Gosden,whilst they were both students at theUniversity of Cambridge.She has four children, Sebastian, Serena, Theodora andThaddeus.[7],and lives inNewmarket, Suffolk.
