Raoul Kraushaar

Raoul Kraushaar(August 20, 1908,Paris,France– October 13, 2001,Pompano Beach, Florida) was an Americancomposerwho worked onHollywoodfeature films in the 1940s and 1950s.

He continued working on low-budget films through the 1960s and 1970s. After that, and up through the 1980s, most of his work centered ontelevisionuntil his retirement; his works included musical compositions for a number of television series, such asThe Abbott and Costello Show,LassieandThe Thin Man.

His Romanian-born father, Arnold Adolph Kraushaar (1880-1943), an orchestral musician, brought his wife, Rachel (1881-1918), and their baby son, Raoul, to New York as cabin class passengers on board the Frenchtransatlanticsteamship,La Provencein April 1910. They settled inNew York City.[1]
