Rayan(Arabic:ريّان or ريان,romanized:rayyān), also speltRayyan,Rayyaan,RayaanRaian,is generally a given name ofArabicorigin, usually male but sometimes female,[1]meaning "watered", "luxuriant", "plentiful" or "heaven's flower" in Arabic.[2]

In Arabic andIslamictradition, it is the name of one of the gates ofJannah,Al-Rayyan,through which only those who fast a lot would enter on theDay of Resurrection.[3][4][5]

This name also has a meaning in Persian.Rayan(Persian:رایان,romanized:raːjaːn, Rāyān), also spelledRyan,is an Iranian given name of Persian origin.[citation needed]It is primarily a male given name that means "smart", "wise" or "thinker".[citation needed]

According to theIsrael Central Bureau of Statisticsin 2010, Rayan is also one of the most common names amongArab ChristiansandDruzeinIsrael.[6]
