Rimba Ilmu(literallyforest of knowledge) is atropicalbotanical gardenset up by the late Professor W.R. Stanton in 1974 on the campus of theUniversity of MalayainKuala Lumpur,Malaysia.[1][2]

The garden has over 1,600 species of plants occupying over 80 hectares.[3]It is populated mainly with indigenous plants species but include many from tropicalAsia,thePacificislands,Australia,South America,AfricaandMadagascar.

TheMalaysian Nature Societymaintains an environmental program with the cooperation of the university at the botanical garden since 1997.[citation needed]
