Robert Adolfo Wainwright(born December 27, 1973) is a Filipino-American former professionalbasketballplayer who currently serves as the assistant coach of theNueva Ecija Rice Vanguardsof theMaharlika Pilipinas Basketball League(MPBL).
Playing career
[edit]Wainwright was directly hired bySta. Lucia Realtorsin2000from theCebu Gemswhere he was a star in theMetropolitan Basketball Association.
He played with the Realtors in 2000 before playing for theShell Turbo Chargersfrom 2001 to 2002. In 2003, he was acquired by theCoca-Cola Tigers.After 4 years, Wainwright played for theRain or Shine Elasto Paintersfrom 2006 to 2009. He was instrumental in transforming Rain or Shine into title contenders.
In 2009, he helped thePhilippine Patriotswin the inauguralASEAN Basketball Leaguecrown.
Coaching career
[edit]Wainwright was signed byABLclubSaigon Heat2012 as an assistant coach for the team.
In June 2014, Wainwright was signed by then-expansion teamKia Sorentoas an assistant coach to head coachManny Pacquiao.[1][2]
