Roberts Creek State Preserve

Roberts Creek State Preserveis located in ruralClayton County, Iowa,in Wagner Township, nearSt. Olaf, Iowa,and a few miles north ofElkader, Iowa.Roberts Creekis a tributary of theTurkey River.

The Preserve containsalgific talus slopes,a rare ecosystem unique to theDriftless Areaand hosts a threatened wildflower.

The preserve is not open to the public, in that it is a rare ecosystem that contains athreatened species,Aconitum noveboracense,also known as Northern Blue Monkshood or Northern Wild Monkshood, asaxifrage,(abuttercup).[1]
