Geography
[edit]One of the highest peaks of the district is P'isqu Urqu at approximately 4,600 m (15,100 ft). Other mountains are listed below:[2]

Ethnic groups
[edit]The people in the district are mainlyindigenouscitizens ofQuechuadescent.Quechuais the language which the majority of the population (97.42%) learnt to speak in childhood, 1.82% of the residents started speaking using theSpanishlanguage (2007 Peru Census).[3]
