TheS36is a regional railway service of theZürich S-Bahnoperated byTHURBO.The service runs hourly betweenWaldshutandBülachover the western half of theWinterthur–Bülach–Koblenz railway,calling at stations in theSwiss cantonsofAargauandZürich,and theGerman stateofBaden-Württemberg.

The service began on 9 December 2018, replacing theS41,which had operated from Waldshut toWinterthur.The S41's western terminus became Bülach.[4]

Route

The service runs fromBülach,in thecanton of Zürich,toKoblenz,in thecanton of Aargau,on theWinterthur to Koblenz line.At Koblenz, the service reverses direction and continues toWaldshutinBaden-Württemberg(Germany), using a short stretch of theTurgi to Waldshut lineand crossing the historicWaldshut–Koblenz Rhine Bridge.
