Signal-regulatory protein gammais aproteinthat in humans is encoded by theSIRPGgene.[5][6][7]SIRPG has also recently been designatedCD172G(cluster of differentiation172G).

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of thesignal-regulatory protein(SIRP) family, and also belongs to theimmunoglobulin superfamily.SIRP family members arereceptor-type transmembrane glycoproteinsknown to be involved in the negative regulation of receptor tyrosine kinase-coupled signaling processes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.[7]
