Gamma-1-syntrophinis aproteinthat in humans is encoded by theSNTG1gene.[5][6]

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of thesyntrophinfamily. Syntrophins are cytoplasmicperipheral membrane proteinsthat typically contain 2pleckstrin homology(PH) domains, aPDZ domainthat bisects the first PH domain, and a C-terminal domain that mediatesdystrophinbinding. This gene is specifically expressed in thebrain.Transcript variantsfor this gene have been described, but their full-length nature has not been determined.[6]
