San Jerónimo Districtis one of the nineteendistrictsof theAndahuaylas ProvinceinPeru.[1]

Geography[edit]

One of the highest peaks of the district is Sallapi at approximately 4,800 m (15,700 ft). Other mountains are listed below:[2]

Ethnic groups[edit]

The people in the district are mainlyindigenouscitizens ofQuechuadescent.Quechuais the language which the majority of the population (69.26%) learnt to speak in childhood, 30.47% of the residents started speaking using theSpanishlanguage (2007 Peru Census).[3]
