Sasamónis amunicipalityand town located in theprovince of Burgos,Castile and León,Spain. According to the 2004census(INE), the municipality has a population of 1,346 inhabitants.

During pre-Romantimes, it was the capital of theTurmodigitribe, under the nameSegisama.During the reign of firstRoman emperorAugustus,the town was theheadquartersof theRoman legionsthat fought during theCantabrian wars.[2]
