Taxonomy
[edit]The genusSaudareoswas introduced in 2020 for acladeof lorikeets that form asisterclade toEos.Thetype speciesis theornate lorikeet.The genus name combines theIndonesian language"saudara" meaning "sister" with the genus nameEos.The genus contains three species which were formerly assigned toTrichoglossusand one that was assigned toPsitteuteles.[2][3] The genus contains the following five species:[3]
