Schilksee(German pronunciation:[ˈʃɪlkˌzeː]) is a town on theDanish Wahldpeninsula in theKieler Förde.In 1959, the town was incorporated into the city ofKiel,therefore today sometimes named asKiel-Schilksee(German pronunciation:[kiːlˈʃɪlkˌzeː]).

The town is a popular vacation destination because of its beaches and houses severalresorts.[1]

Sailing eventswere held off Schilksee during the1936 Summer Olympics.[1]

During the1972 Summer Olympics,held inMunich,Germany, theOlympic Yachting Centerwas built at Schilksee for thesailing eventsof the 1972 games.[2]
