Setsoto Municipality(Sotho:Masepala wa Setsoto) is alocal municipalitywithin theThabo Mofutsanyane District Municipality,in theFree Stateprovince ofSouth Africa.Setsotois aSesothoword meaning "beauty". The seat isFicksburg.Other towns includeSenekal,ClocolanandMarquard.The municipality is rich in agriculture and is known for producing cherries.
The first mayor was Ms M.Molete and the current is Ms Seipati Mbiwe.[3]

Politics
[edit]The municipal council consists of thirty-three members elected bymixed-member proportional representation.Seventeen councillors are elected byfirst-past-the-post votingin seventeenwards,while the remaining sixteen are chosen fromparty listsso that the total number of party representatives is proportional to the number of votes received. In theelection of 1 November 2021theAfrican National Congress(ANC) won a majority of seventeen seats on the council. The following table shows the results of the election.[5]
