SeyyedMehdi Hashemi(Persian:سید مهدی هاشمی) is an Iranian former military officer andconservativepolitician who was formerly a member of theParliament of IranrepresentingTehran, Rey, Shemiranat and Eslamshahr.[1]He is currently President of the Shooting Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He also served as the deputy to theMinister of Transportation,being appointed on 24 September 2008[3]and caretaker of theMinister of Interior.[4]On 29 August 2005, Hashemi was failed to gain a vote of confidence as theWelfare and Social Security Minister.[5]
