According to chronicles,[which?]theYu Clanare descendant ofYu the Great( đại vũ )'s third son Han ( hãn ). Yu's wife was Tu San Nyu ( đồ sơn nữ ) who gave birth to three son. Oldest son Qi ( khải ), second son Su ( tốt ) and youngest was Han ( hãn ). Han was bestow the Tu ( đồ ) region, and given the title ofKing Qin of Yu( dư khánh vương ), thus he and descendant uses the state Yu as surname. Yu ( dư ) is derived from Tu ( đồ ), removing the stroke on the left which represent water.

During the regime ofEmperor Huai of Jinin 307 AD, the Yu Clan ( dư ) due toShi Le's Rebellion ( thạch lặc chi loạn ) sought refuge in Muzhou ( mục châu ) which is in current dayZhejiang( chiết giang ). During the reign ofEmperor Ming of Jinin 323 AD, Yu Feng ( dư phúng ) became an official of theJin dynasty,and in order to avoid a taboo, he changed his surname from Yu ( dư ) to She ( xa ). From that point on he was known as She Feng ( xa phúng ). So because of this, his descendants followed to have this new surname. She Wan/ She Feng became the Grand Ancestor of the She Clan. Most chronicles still recognize him as She Feng ( xa phúng ).

She Qin ( xa khâm ) was the first to appear in the Chinese national history. She Qin, whosecourtesy namewas Zheng Guo ( chính quốc ), attained Jin Shi ( tiến sĩ ) degree. InTang dynasty's Kai Yuan ( khai nguyên ) era in 740 AD, he became the Ji Xue Yuan ( tập hiền viện ) Grand Scholar, which is a title in the imperial court. He was born inJiangxiNanchang.Once theEmperor Xuanzong of Tangbestow him to take care of acommanderyinNanchang( nam xương ), thus moving his home toAnhui.She Qin has four son.

  • 1st Son, She Rong Hua ( xa vinh hoa ): Became Zhong Shu She Ren ( trọng thư xá nhân ), which is a title in the imperial court, his descendant arrived inJiangxi
  • 2nd Son, She Ming ( xa minh ): Descendant arrived inFujianPutian( phủ điền ) province,GuangdongShunde ( thuận đức ) province.
  • 3rd Son, She Yuan ( xa viện ):Courtesy namewas Jin Zhan ( cảnh chiêm ), descendant arrived inGuangdongChaozhouprovince.

His descendants settled down inChaozhou's Yue Pu ( nguyệt phổ ), Yu Zhou ( ngư châu ),Feng Xi( phong khê ), Yang Shan ( dương sơn ), Tang Kou ( đường khẩu ) and the other She Clan settlement. Till early part ofMing dynasty,She of Yue Pu ( nguyệt phổ xa ) in Yu Zhou, has some descendants moved toHai Yang( hải dương ),Chenghai District.

The second group duringMing dynastyWang Li ( vạn lịch ) era (circa 1573–1620 AD), She Dan Zai ( xa đạm trai ) moved fromFujianPutian( phủ điền ) province toChenghai District( trừng hải huyện ).

She Kuan Da ( xa khoan đại ),courtesy namewas Yue Liang ( viết lượng ), born inSouthern Song dynastyEmperor Duzong of Songtime, third year of Xian Chun ( hàm thuần ) era which is 1267 AD, and live untilEmperor Renzong of Yuanthird year of Yan You ( diên hữu ) rra which is 1316 AD. He was an official in the royal court as Chao Feng Lang ( triều phụng lang ) (recorded in Book Five of theJie YangCountyChronicles). He was later promoted to Pi Chao Feng Dai Fu ( tích triều phụng đại phu ), as he settled down inChaozhouTao Shan ( đào sơn ), thus the descendants recognize him as Grand Ancestor inChaozhou.He was buried behind Tao Shan Cen Zai Village ( đào sơn sầm tử thôn ), and the tomb is currently still standing, the tomb was re-embellish in 1988 AD. He has two sons, each developing their homes in the region, their descendants has populated fromChaoshanregion toSoutheast Asia,his wife Tian Jing ( điềm tĩnh ) of Ni Clan ( nghê thị ) give birth to Bo Feng ( bách phong ), inYuan dynastyTai Ding ( thái định ) rra (1324–1328 AD) he move his home from Tao Shan ( đào sơn ) toJie Yang( yết dương ). As the village has a round lake like a mirror, it was named as Round Mirror Village ( viên kính thôn ). Later as the village was nearHan River( hàn giang ) and surrounded by small streams, the residents built their home along the streams, like a new moon, thus giving it a name of Yu Pu Township ( nguyệt phổ hương ).

Currently inChaoshanregion's She Clan recognize him as Grand Ancestor inChaozhou,instead of She Shou Zi ( xa thủ chi ).
