Shoufeng Township[2]is arural TownshipinHualien County,Taiwan.The township sits in the north segment ofEast Rift Valleybetween Taiwan'sCentral RangeandCoastal Mountain Rangenear thePacific Ocean.[3]The Township is best known as home toNational Dong Hwa University(NDHU), anationalresearch universityand famous tourist attraction in Eastern Taiwan, where is Taiwan's representativeuniversity town.

A large part of the township is located centered on theHuadong Valleynorth of where theShoufeng Riverempties into theHualien River.The township extends eastward over theHai'an Rangeto the Pacific Ocean in the east.

The township comprises 15 villages: Chinan, Fengli, Fengping, Fengshan, Gonghe, Guangrong, Mizhan, Pinghe, Shoufeng, Shuhu, Shuilian, Xikou, Yanliao, Yuemei and Zhixue.

TheNational Dong Hwa Universitydominates the township of Shoufeng, providing the township with its distinctivecollege-towncharacter. University buildings are located in the north of the township and the campus is directly adjacent to the Zhixue Street, Papaya Creek Delta, andZhixue Railway Station.[4]
