In general, the Chinese hold Xia founderYu the Great( vũ ) to be a descendant ofEmperor Yao( nghiêu ). It is one of the traditional description was what were known as the "Eight GreatXings of High Antiquity"(ThượngCổBátĐạiTính), along withJiāng(Khương),Jī(Cơ),Yáo(Diêu),Yíng(Doanh), Yún (Vân),Guī(Quỳ) and Rèn (Nhâm), though some sources quoteJí(Cật) as the last one instead of Rèn.
