Silas Lee(July 3, 1760 – March 1, 1814) was a lawyer, judge, andUnited States RepresentativefromMassachusetts.Born inConcordin theProvince of Massachusetts Bay,he pursuedclassical studiesand graduated fromHarvard Universityin 1784. He studied law, wasadmitted to the bar,and was a member of theMassachusetts House of Representativesin 1793, 1797, and 1798.

Lee was elected as aFederalistto the6thand7th Congressesand served from March 4, 1799, until August 20, 1801, when he resigned. He was appointed by PresidentThomas Jeffersonto beUnited States Attorney for the District of Maineon January 6, 1802, and served until his death; he wasjustice of the peaceand of thequorumin 1803, andprobate judgefrom 1805 to 1814. In 1810 he was chief judge of theCourt of Common Pleas.He died inWiscasset(at the time, a part of Massachusetts'District of Maine). His interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
