Silent Hill f(Japanese:サイレントヒル f,Hepburn:Sairento Hiru f)is an upcomingsurvival horrorvideo game developed by NeoBards Entertainment and published byKonami Digital Entertainmentas the eighth mainline game in theSilent Hillfranchise.[1]In a departure from the majority of previous entries in the series, the game takes place in 1960s rural Japan instead of the titular fictionalMainetown.[2]

Development

In February 2021, it was reported thatKonamiwas planning to revive theSilent Hillfranchise with multiple third-party studios developing new games.[3]In October 2022, Konami announced four newSilent Hillprojects, 10 years after the last mainlineSilent Hillgame,Downpour.[4][5]Konami has revealed thatSilent Hill fis developed by NeoBards Entertainment.[6]

The game is being directed by Al Yang, studio creative director of NeoBards Entertainment,[7]and is being written byRyukishi07.[8][9]Creatures and characters are being designed by Japanese artist Kera.[8]The game is being produced byMotoi Okamoto,formerNintendoproducer.[10]
