Robert Aston(born October 29, 1978), better known by his stage nameSkinhead Rob,is an American rapper best known as a founding member of the rap rock group theTransplants.[1]He is also the lead vocalist in aD-beatpunk band named Death March and a former member of hip-hop groupExpensive Taste.

Career

Aston's career began as a roadie for bands Boot Party,AFI,andRancid.[2]He eventually started a solo career, releasing the song "Show Me". He became involved in theTransplantswhenTim Armstrongasked for lyrics to the songs Aston had been writing. The two started jamming in Armstrong's basement. They eventually invitedTravis BarkerofBlink-182to provide drum tracks, instead of using drum-loops as originally planned.

At the end of the 2005Vans Warped Tour,Transplantstook a hiatus and Rob and Travis joinedHoustonrapperPaul Wall,whochopped and screwedthe Transplants'Haunted Citiesalbum, to form a new group calledExpensive Taste.He has been interviewed byNardwuar the Human Serviette,along with Travis. As of January 2010, according to drummerTravis Barker,theTransplantsare active again and currently planning a third album.[3]As of 2021, it has indeed been released.

Aston sang on the track "Red Hot Moon" about his sister, fromRancid'sIndestructiblealbum and participated in the music video. Aston also credited as additional background vocalist forDeath by Stereo's third albumInto the Valley of DeathandTravis Barker&Yelawolf's collaborativeEPPsycho White.In 2006 Aston has made extra performance in stop motion-animated, musical independent film directed byJohn Roecker"Live Freaky! Die Freaky!".
