Sokol Maliqi(Serbo-Croat:Sokol Malići;born 24 December 1981) is afootballcoach and former player who coachesFC Kosova.Born inSFR Yugoslavia,he represented theSwitzerland U17 national teamat international level.
Playing career[edit]
Maliqi was born inPristina,Kosovo,at the timeSFR Yugoslavia.He played as aforward.
Coaching career[edit]
Maliqi started his coaching career in April 2012 as a player-coach atFC Schwamendingen.[1]On 15 May 2013, it was confirmed, that he would joinFC Dübendorffrom the upcoming season, also as a player-coach.[2]He left the position two years later[3]and then had a brief spell withFC Ruggell.
In the summer 2016, he joinedFC Gossau ZH,still as a player-coach.[4]He left the position at the end of 2017, to become player-coach ofFC Uzwil.[5]On 20 April 2020, it was confirmed that Maliqi had been appointed head coach of his former club,FC Kosova.[6]
