TheSouth Pacific Cartel(Spanish:Cártel del Pacífico Sur) is aMexicanorganized crimegroup composed of the remnants of theBeltrán-Leyva Cartel.[1]It is based in the Mexican state ofMorelos.The gang has been significantly less active since mid-2011[2]when the group's leadersJulio de Jesus Radilla Hernandezand Victor Valdez were captured.[3]

Although they call themselves a 'cartel', the violent gang is a local cell created in April 2010 byHéctor Beltrán Leyva,[4][5][6]leader of the Beltran Leyva Cartel. The gang is known for having employed a 12-year-old gunman and executioner.[4][5][6]
