Spatial resolution

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Inphysicsandgeosciences, the termspatial resolutionrefers todistancebetween independentmeasurements,[1]or the physical dimension that represents apixelof the image. While in some instruments, likecamerasandtelescopes, spatial resolution is directly connected toangular resolution, other instruments, likesynthetic aperture radaror a network ofweather stations, produce data whose spatial sampling layout is more related to the Earth's surface, such as inremote sensingandsatellite imagery.
