Spry Bayis aruralcommunity on theEastern ShoreofNova Scotia,Canada,in theHalifax Regional Municipality.The community is situated along theMarine DriveonTrunk 7about 12 km (7.5 mi) southwest ofSheet Harbour, Nova Scotia.[4]The community extends around the shores of Tomlee Bay, an inlet of Spry Bay, itself an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean.[5][6]Themi'kmaqname for the area wasSebimkouaak,which translates to "extensive bog".[2]Dutch families settled across the bay in 1818, and their settlement was named Dutch Town.[2]The community is the home of the Spry Bay Campground and Cabins,[7]as well asTaylor Head Provincial Park.[8]The park contains sand beaches, 22 km (14 mi) of hiking trails and user facilities.
