Stewart Innes(born 20 May 1991) is a retired Britishrower.

Career

Innes took up rowing as a pupil atSt Edward's School, Oxfordand later competed forDurham Universityas an undergraduate, and forReading Universityas a postgraduate.[1][2]

He was part of the British team that topped the medal table at the2015 World Rowing ChampionshipsatLac d'Aiguebelettein France, where he won a bronze medal as part of the coxless four withScott Durant,Alan SinclairandTom Ransley.[3]

He competed in themen's coxless pairevent, with Alan Sinclair, at the2016 Summer Olympics.[4]

After finishing 3rd at the 2019 GB Rowing Team Trials, Innes had been set to compete at the2020 Summer OlympicsinTokyobut following the postponement of the games, he announced his retirement from international rowing in October 2020.[5]

Personal life

His fatherDuncan Innesrowed and won a gold medal at the1977 World Rowing Championships.[6]
