Stewart Jump(born 27 January 1952) is an English formerfootballerinthe Football LeagueforCrystal Palace,FulhamandStoke City.[1]He also had a successful career playing in the United States, and was chosen as theMVPof the 1975Soccer Bowl.[2]

Career

Jump was born inManchesterand joinedStoke Cityas an apprentice in 1965.[1]He progressed through the youth ranks at theVictoria Groundand signed a professional contract in 1970.[1]He made his debut againstCoventry Cityin February 1971 and played in 12First Divisionmatches in1970–71scoring once againstBlackpool.[1]Jump played 33 games in1971–72and made 11 appearances in1972–73.After playing just five matches in1973–74he was sold toCrystal Palacefor £75,000.[1]

Jump spent four seasons atSelhurst Parkmaking 91 appearances scoring twice and he also played three matches forFulham F.C.in 1977. He then decided to move to the United States to play for theTampa Bay Rowdiesin theNorth American Soccer Leaguefor the 1975, 1976 and 1977 summer seasons. In 1978, theHouston Hurricaneof the NASL purchased Jump's contract from Crystal Palace. He played two seasons for the Hurricane. He then played for severalMajor Indoor Soccer Leagueteams as well as theMinnesota Kicks.
