Sulfafurazole(INN,also known assulfisoxazole) is asulfonamideantibacterialwith a dimethyl-isoxazolesubstituent. It possesses antibiotic activity against a wide range ofGram-negativeandGram-positiveorganisms.[1]It is sometimes given in combination witherythromycin(seeerythromycin/Sulfafurazole) orphenazopyridine.It is used locally in a 4% solution or ointment.
