Sunan Bayat

Sunan Bayatis often mentioned in theJavanesemanuscripts of theBabad Tanah Jawi( "History of the land ofJava") as one of theWali Sanga(nine saints), although the chronicles do not generally consider Bayat as one of the mainwali.TheWali Sangaare associated with establishingIslamas the dominant religion amongst theJavanese,the largest ethnic group in Indonesia.

Sunan Bayat is said to have been an employee of a female rice merchant.
