Sven Kristian Barthel(8 September 1903 inBotkyrka[1]– 30 September 1991 inStockholm[2]) was aSwedishwriter, journalist, theatre critic and translator.

He was a great narrator of nature, with a special interest inStockholm's archipelago.[3]He has translated, among other works,Of Mice and MenbyJohn Steinbeck.[1]

Barthel was married toViveka Starfeldt,[4]she was also a writer.
