this is all great, but it says absolutely nothing about why this kid decides to go kill himself and take down thousands of people with him. where is the motive? where did he get radicalized? why him and not his brother

How is the following connected to Hanjour? Someone should add information or this text will be deleted: "On September 10, one of the hijackers was seen by the owner of a strip club in Elizabeth near Newark airport. He had a beer and watched a dancer in a private" VIP "room, where the bar owner watched him through a security camera."

Agreed, I deleted the text while doing an overhaul of the articleSherurcij14:19, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

Who put all this info about him? where are you getting pictures & info the goverment doesn't have???

Much of the information added to the article has been mine, none of it is particularly original though, being drawn from the 9/11 Commission Report, various media sources following the attacks, and such like that...I'm personally horrible at attributing facts to websites (Since most news sites change archive urls so often, it's frustratingly pointless to link to them), but if you have an issue with any of the photos or information I've provided, by all means be specific and I'll dig out my source:)Sherurcij14:19, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

Is it known how he immigrated to the United States? It says he arrived, but how?

Dateline NBC sent Katie Couric; John Hockenberry; and Bob Mckeown to Saudi Arabia in August 2002, and apparently showed family photographs of Hanjour on camera, including one of him skiing, while he was living in AZ - wish I could find a copy of that newsreel.Sherurcij(talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject)11:45, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hanjour on Dulles Security Video

[edit]

9/11 conspiracists point out the obvious difference between the heavier man commonly identified asHani Hanjourin the Dulles Security video and the Hanjour in manyFBIphotos. However, I don't think the explanation for this is sinister; rather, the heavier man was mistakenly ID'd as Hanjour and the real Hanjour can be seen in another part of the video. A thin man with the same complexion and hairline can be seen walking to the right in the security video. He is wearing black pants and a white long-sleeved shirt with the strap from his luggage wrapped around his right shoulder. Perhaps a screenshot showing this man should replace or complement the one in the article. --Huysmantalk20:49, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well we don't want to violateWP:NOR,but I personally agree that it's likely just another case of misidentificationshrugs, not for us to say though. But I definitely wouldn't suggest replacing the image with somebody else in the lineup who is likely an innocent passenger killed that day.Sherurcij(talk) (Terrorist Wikiproject)13:47, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GA delisted

[edit]

After discussion onWikipedia:Good article reviewthe article was delisted.

I can't see this page being a good article. Its titles for the paragraphs are just years and the sources aren't even done right. And only 12 lines are sourced.Chaldean04:40, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1998 Freeway Airport

This article says he flew atFreeway Airportin 1998. The Washington Post said that he flew there a month before the attack on 9/11/01. Orphaned references inHani Hanjour

[edit]

I check pages listed inCategory:Pages with incorrect ref formattingto try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content fororphaned referencesin wikilinked articles. I have found content for some ofHani Hanjour's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct forthisarticle, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "911-ch1":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not.AnomieBOT18:52, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flying Ability

[edit]

A man would couldn't complete even the simplest of air maneuvers, somehow turned into the greatest pilot of all times.

Hani "The Red Baron" Hanjour.—Precedingunsignedcomment added byAbraxas72(talkcontribs)20:32, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The whole article is Science Fiction, as Hani Hanjour could not fly the airplane into the pentagon the way the government claims. It is aerodynamically IMPOSSIBLE.—Precedingunsignedcomment added byAbraxas72(talkcontribs)06:05, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's your accusations that are fiction. In fact they're straight upanti-American propaganda. The pilots who trained him know he was perfectly capable of flying a Cessna ([1];[2]), and there is nothing that makes crashing into the Pentagon impossible. ---------User:DanTD(talk)00:38, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion about Ontario, California, and Ontario, Canada

[edit]

I see people confuse Ontario, Canada with Ontario, California, a lot, when it comes to Hani Hanjour. One of the final tests that Hanjour had to do, in order to get his original 1999 pilot's license was to fly from Arizona to Chino, California on March 13, 1999. The Chino Airport actually borders Ontario, California. Merrill Avenue is the border between the two cities. There does not appear to be any hard evidence that Hanjour ever went anywhere in Canada.Wilkyisdashiznit(talk)08:53, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No one has responded in almost a year. Hani Hanjour flew to Chino, California, and traveled to Ontario, California, on March 13, 1999. He did not go to Ontario, Canada in March 1999.Wilkyisdashiznit(talk)05:31, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fifth lead paragraph

[edit]

How relevant is the fifth lead paragraph about training withRayed Mohammed Abdullah Ali?It seems to me that this is almost trivial to add to the lead section, and is adequately covered in the body and in the article about Ali. -Cameron Dewe(talk)10:19, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think it’s fine to mention it at the end of the lead.RocksAreAlive(talk)14:02, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
