Etymology of eporedia

[edit]

The article currently states:

The Latin name of the town, Eporedia (meaning: "place to change horses" )[citation needed], has long since vanished into the mists of time,

The Latin for horse is equus. Epos is Gaulish. Reda is also Gaulish, meaning 'to ride (in a chariot or wagon)'. The name is thus Gaulish, and may have been Latinised but does not have a Latin origin. I have left this ascitation neededfor now, to give time for anyone to come up with a citable Latin etymology. Meanwhile I will check my references on the Gaulish etymology. --Nantonos(talk)14:15, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orange Throwers

[edit]

The article implies that the people on the ground are the only ones to throw oranges. I can assert from personal knowledge that the teams on the carts carry a supply of oranges and use them liberally. Orange throwers are forbidden by temporary city ordinance to target people wear red head-gear. Consequently during the Battle, the streets are a sea of red, tempered by orange pulp.2A02:8012:CF7D:0:2122:D0EE:B0C1:9F30(talk)17:09, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
