Tangir District(Urdu:ضلع تانگیر) is a district in theGilgit-Baltistanregion ofPakistan.It lies 67 km fromChilas.[1][2] Its population lives mainly in the valley of the Tangir River, a right tributary of theIndus River.[3]
History[edit]
Prior to 2019, the Tangir District was a tehsil of theDiamer District,along with Darel and Chilas.
Geography[edit]
The Tangir District is bounded on the north by theGupis-Yasin District,on the north-east by theGhizer District,on the east by theDarel District,and on the south and west by theUpper Kohistan Districtof Pakistan'sKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Province,
