Usage

Opening a single subsection

How to manage this template's collapsible groups/sections option

• This template includes collapsible groups/sections. When itfirst appears,one of these groups/sections may be set to be visible ( "expanded" ) while the others remain hidden ( "collapsed" ) apart from their titlebars. To achieve this,include the parameter|namewherenameis one of the following words that identify the groups/sections (omit any speech or quotation marks):
• • building
  • civility
  • notability
  • humour

Example of the syntax to show (uncollapse) any of the subsections:

• {{Wikipedia essays|civility}}
• {{Wikipedia essays|notability}}
• {{Wikipedia essays|humour}}

For example,{{Wikipedia essays|notability}}will produce:

Opening multiple subsections

To show multiple, or all of, the subsections at once, use state_n,e.g.:

• {{Wikipedia essays|state=expanded|state1=collapsed|state2=collapsed|state3=expanded|state4=collapsed|state5=collapsed}}

Parameterstatecontrols the entire template;state1controls the building essays;state2controls the civility essays;state3controls the notability essays;state4controls the humour essays;state5controls the 'About essays' section. These can be set toexpandedorcollapsed.The above example will produce this:
